Things are shaping up for sports fans in Las Vegas. This fall, the Vegas Golden Knights, an NHL expansion franchise, will take to the ice as the city’s first major league pro sports team in history. Reid Duke was just announced as the first player on the roster. The 21 year-old Canadian is currently with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and is just the first among the emerging wave of sports stars eager to call Vegas home.
General Manager George McPhee tells Luxury Estates International (LEI) that between the T-Mobile Arena on the Strip and the new practice facility in Summerlin, the team has two state-of-the-art assets to attract quality players to Las Vegas. “This might be the best setup I’ve ever seen in an NHL city,” he says, noting that construction is nearing completion in Summerlin. “It’s a massive practice facility. It’s about 150,000 square feet and will be one of the best in the league, if not the best. You need these things if you want to get the top players in the league to play here.”

Las Vegas is already a hot destination and with two pro sports teams, the city will add to its value, drawing even more new homeowners to drive up demand for luxury homes.
