Things are shaping up for sports fans in Las Vegas. This fall, the Vegas Golden Knights, an NHL expansion franchise, will take to the ice as the city’s first major league pro sports team in history. Reid Duke was just announced as the first player on the roster. The 21 year-old Canadian is currently with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League and is just the first among the emerging wave of sports stars eager to call Vegas home.

General Manager George McPhee tells Luxury Estates International (LEI) that between the T-Mobile Arena on the Strip and the new practice facility in Summerlin, the team has two state-of-the-art assets to attract quality players to Las Vegas. “This might be the best setup I’ve ever seen in an NHL city,” he says, noting that construction is nearing completion in Summerlin. “It’s a massive practice facility. It’s about 150,000 square feet and will be one of the best in the league, if not the best. You need these things if you want to get the top players in the league to play here.”

A full interview with McPhee will appear in the upcoming seasonal magazine for Luxury Estates International, a luxury real estate leader in the Las Vegas community ready to provide pro athletes with tours of exclusive high-end listings. The company, under the leadership of broker and founder Kamran Zand, has partnered up with SportStar Relocation, a service that works with pro teams to make sure moving across North America is as easy and convenient as possible. LEI has a proven record of finding the right home for high-profile buyers or renters. Whether it’s an exotic high-rise on the Strip or a large family estate in Summerlin, the possibilities are endless for a new resident seeking a luxury property in Las Vegas.

LEI will work with each athlete every step of the way. That means offering details and assistance on choosing a community with the right amenities, schools and location to match every lifestyle. If needed, a new signee can step off the plane and head straight to their new home – with the furniture in place, the utilities turned on and the kitchen fully stocked with groceries.

The Vegas Golden Knights could be just the beginning of a new era for sports fans in Southern Nevada. The odds of drawing an NFL team to Las Vegas look better than ever as Bank of America recently announced it would help finance the proposed stadium for the Oakland Raiders. The team’s new home could be close to the Strip, providing added incentive for not only the already bustling tourism industry, but also property owners looking to increase the value of their real estate. Las Vegas is already a hot destination and with two pro sports teams, the city will add to its value, drawing even more new homeowners to drive up demand for luxury homes.

The new football stadium will also likely host games for the UNLV Rebels, elevating college sports in the community as well. There’s no doubt Las Vegas is adding a new dimension to its identity and becoming a legit sports town. Perhaps a basketball team is next? Don’t rule anything out.
