Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal was a historic Las Vegas personality and one not likely to be forgotten. A casino executive and mob-connected sports bettor, he is a link to Vegas’ colorful and checkered past. Lefty gained pop culture status as the inspiration for the book and movie Casino. Though he passed away in 2008, his iconic home still remains. Located in the Las Vegas Country Club, the valley’s first guard-gated neighborhood, still considered a premier upscale community because of its prime location and history. Among all the Las Vegas Country Club homes for sale, Lefty’s receives particular attention because of who he was, and that it mostly remains in its original condition. After being damaged by a fire in the 1970’s, the interior was remodeled by acclaimed designer Stephen Chase, with about 500K of Lefty’s dubiously earned money being spent on the project. Though it has had multiple owners since Lefty, much of the 71’s vibe remains and is about as retro chic as it comes. Heralded as a time-capsule, this historic home is a throwback to Las Vegas heyday as a mob town. Outfitted with bullet-proof glass picture windows and doors, and boasting a hidden gun compartment, this is no ordinary home. Probably the most notorious signpost to Lefty’s lifestyle is a chip in the staircase glass, supposedly from a bullet. Combine these elements with the throwback furnishings and setting and you get something that is simply unique. This exciting landmark is once again for sale and the perfect choice for anyone looking to claim a piece of Las Vegas history for themselves.
